General Election. November 4th, 2014
The primary election in August narrowed the Ward 3 City Council candidate field from 5 to 2. The two top vote getters from the primary were Wade Demmer and Ethan Yang. Next up is the general election on November 4th.
How do I register to vote?
If you've voted in an election since you've been at your current address, you are probably already registered. If you aren't sure if you are registered, you can look yourself up here. If you aren't registered yet, you can register at your local courthouse, or online here. You can also register at your polling place on the day of the election. Registration requires some evidence that you live in the ward. The most commonly used evidence is a driver's license with your current address, however there are other options here.
Where is my polling place?
What if I have to work on August November 4th? What if I am out of town?
By state law, an employer has to allow you to vote on election day (time may be unpaid). However, some people find absentee ballots to be a better option than going to their polling place. If you want an absentee ballot, you can request one here.
Democracy works best when we all vote.
